This last week has been full of stuff.

Each morning we wake up to dark and take Kaitlyn to the bus stop in the dark. The sun doesn't come up over the hills until nine o'clock in the morning!! The sky has been cloudy every day this last week. The weather has changed to mostly chilly, the leaves are changing colors. The rainy weather hasn't cooperated with us so that we can take pictures so far. I hope it will cooperate this week!

Tuesdays are crazy at our house. Kaitlyn has joined Drama Club and so she has play practice every Tuesday. Since she is too young to ride the after school activity bus, I get to ride the public bus to the school. It's not so bad, but on my bad day it's difficult to walk to the bus stop. Kaitlyn even has a part in the play!!! She is very excited!!

Thursday I needed to go to the doctor so that my prescriptions could be refilled. The new doctor I will be seeing is very kind. She decided that it was past time for me to have my first mammogram!! UGH!!! I got lucky and there was an appointment available for Friday. Our medical clinic here is extremely small, so most tests and major illnesses are contracted out to the local hospital in Leuven.

Because I had doctor appointments on those two days, Dave got a long weekend!! He had plenty of time to prepare his lesson for Sunday. Sundays are turning out to be very long days at church. Dave has meetings beginning at 830, church begins at 10, and then he has a meeting after church. We leave or house at 8am and don't get home til 2 or 3 in the afternoon.

News from our Missionary

Well, we have had our missionary in the MTC for two weeks today. We've heard from her each week on her P-days which are Tuesday. She gets 25 minutes to write emails, so she has a short time to write to everyone. She is learning and growing. Her testimony is growing stronger each day. She is taking tons of pictures, but we haven't received any yet. Her and her roommate keep getting locked out of their room. She is the only Sister that is learning Vietnamese, so she is a companioned with six Elders who are also learning Vietnamese. Those Elders have turned into her little brothers.

President Monson Breaks Ground for Rome Italy Temple

I was so excited this morning when I woke up to see this amazing news item on the website for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints!! We were living in Italy when the announcement was made and we hoped that we would be able to attend the dedication or at least one session at the Rome Italy Temple in our lifetime. Now that the construction has began we pray that it will be completed before we leave Europe again. We pray that we will be able to have an opportunity to go to Rome for this spacific reason to atten the Lord's house and perform sacred ordinances for our kindred dead!

A Husband's Support

It's like I always say: I didn't bring the guy that CARES! So get over it World!

Read the warning of voice of one of the Lord's servant: "What the world really needs is courageous parenting from mothers and fathers who are not afraid to speak up and take a stand....May I express my personal warning about a practice that is common in many cultures. I am referring to sleepovers, or spending the night at the home of a friend. As a bishop I discovered that too many youth violated the Word of Wisdom or the law of chastity for the first time as part of a sleepover. Too often their first exposure to pornography and even their first encounter with the police occurred when they were spending the night away from home". (Elder Larry R. Lawrence)

...Parents are you listening???? Enough said.

Oh by the way I support my wife and I support the Lord's chosen servants.

Oops! I did it again!

Yup, I once again opened my pie hole and said something that upset a LOT of people. I thought that maybe I had passed that point in my life where I had to check my opinion at the door whenever I walk into a room, literally and figuratively. I feel that everyone is entitled to their opinion on ANY matter in life. I also realize that I get my feelings hurt when someone says something that bothers me, but I try not to pull everyone else into it and work it out on my own. Once I've worked it out on my own and with whomever I need to, I'm good. Because I have upset so many people, I have grounded myself from commenting or updating on Facebook. My children have the same issue with opening their mouths and expressing how they feel and sometimes think. This flaw in our characters has caused many problems in our extended family. I apologize to those who have been offended by our opinions.
